Goals and Mission
 Our
vision is to be a model school district and
we have developed a mission to accomplish this task. That
mission is “to become a world-class, student-focused,
community of teaching and learning”, which includes
every child and adult within our District boundaries. The
purpose of our mission is to make a difference in the lives of
children, and we fundamentally believe that a caring,
competent, and qualified teacher in every classroom is the key
to student success in schools.
Superintendent's Welcome
 I’d like to take this opportunity to
present you with a cross sectional representation of what Blaine
County School District is all about…
Recent
support from our patrons has allowed us to advance this concept
to include
professional - technical academies and dual college
credit courses for juniors and seniors in our two new high
schools in the cities of Hailey and Carey. This support also
allows our community to use our current facilities to take
college classes and enjoy recreational opportunities while
getting to know our students better as recommended by the
community assets report.
After researching and piloting two
preschool programs, this year, thanks to continued community and
School Board support we now have
preschool programs at each of
our elementary schools. Students are admitted on a sliding fee
scale in order to ensure that preschool is available to
everyone.
The latest project has been the completion of a
new
elementary school in 2006. This has enabled us to make all five
our elementary settings (K-5) neighborhood schools. By doing so
we have eliminated bus routes and created a central gathering
place for each of our separate communities.
We are currently in
the midst of a
Strategic Planning Process that will help guide
the direction of education in Blaine County for the next 6-8
years. We have created a Planning Team of over 100 members
including parents, students, teachers, staff, administrators and
community members that will help determine our goals and
direction.
Add to these concept-backed building plans and the
outstanding staff that Blaine County Schools
have always been recognized for, and you can see why we are so
excited to lead this effort and share our enthusiasm with you.
