Meet our Board Members

Alexandra Sundali, Chairman

Alex Sundali was elected to the Board of Trustees in 2003. She was elected Chairman in 2005. She has a B.F.A. degree from New York University. Alex has been a resident of the Wood River Valley since 1980. She has three children:  Anja, Taylor and Daniel. Prior to her election to the school board she was a guest teacher for the Blaine County School District. She and her husband, Bill, own and operate a construction business in Ketchum.

Julie Dahlgren, Vice Chairman

Julie Dahlgren was appointed to the Board of Trustees in September 2003 and elected in 2004. She has a BA in English and an MA in Education (University of California, Santa Barbara). In 2003 she retired after 34 years of teaching.

Kim Nilsen, Trustee

Kim Nilsen was appointed to the Board of Trustees in 2002. He was subsequently elected to the Board of Trustees in 2003 and elected as Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees in July 2005. Kim has been working in the Wood River Valley since 1978 and moved to the area permanently in 1990. Kim's seven children all attended the Blaine County School District, and he is looking forward to his grandchildren entering the school system in the near future.

Dr. Daniel Parke, Trustee

Dan has lived in Blaine County most of his life. He graduated from Carey High School, and did his undergraduate work at Ricks College and Utah State University. He has a B.S. degree and Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Palmer College of Chiropractic. Dan and his wife Shawna have five children who all attend Carey High School and Carey Elementary School.

Mari Beth Matthews, Trustee

Mari Beth Matthews was appointed to the board September 2005 and reelected in May 2006. She has a B.S. degree in Advertising Communications from the University of Idaho. She currently is self employed as an internet consultant and website designer. Mari Beth and her husband have three boys who attended Hemingway Elementary School and now are enrolled in Wood River Middle School.
